Every June, the world becomes saturated with rainbow flags, parades, and slogans proclaiming “love is love” and celebrating what has been labeled “Pride Month.” But for Christians who hold fast to the Word of God, this month stands in stark contrast to the righteousness and holiness we are called to uphold.
Sadly, many who claim to follow Christ have embraced the cultural narrative. Some support it, others remain indifferent, and still others—though knowing it is wrong—stay silent to avoid offense or backlash. But silence in the face of sin is not faithfulness. It is compromise.
Let us look to God’s Word, which does not change with the culture, to guide our convictions and actions.
God’s Word Clearly Condemns These Sins
Scripture is not vague about homosexuality, transgenderism, or any other form of sexual perversion. These practices are not to be celebrated, normalized, or accepted—they are to be repented of.
“You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination.”
— Leviticus 18:22 NKJV“For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another... and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due.”
— Romans 1:26–27 NKJV“A woman shall not wear anything that pertains to a man, nor shall a man put on a woman’s garment, for all who do so are an abomination to the Lord your God.”
— Deuteronomy 22:5 NKJV“Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in Me to sin, it would be better for him if a millstone were hung around his neck, and he were drowned in the depth of the sea.”
— Matthew 18:6 NKJV (in reference to harming or leading children into sin)
These scriptures are clear. Sin is sin—no matter how the culture tries to rebrand it as “love,” “inclusion,” or “identity.”
Do Not Be Deceived: These Sins Condemn Souls
Our culture now calls evil “good,” and good “evil.” But God has warned us against this very mindset.
“Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness...”
— Isaiah 5:20 NKJV
Paul wrote:
“Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:9–10 NKJV
These are not mere differences of opinion—they are salvation issues. Eternity is at stake.
But There Is Hope: Repentance Is Possible
We must never forget the hope that follows the warning. After listing these sins, Paul continues:
“And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.”
— 1 Corinthians 6:11 NKJV
No one is beyond the reach of God’s grace. Just as we were once lost and broken, so too can anyone caught in these sins be forgiven, cleansed, and made new through repentance and obedience to the gospel.
The Christian Response: Truth in Love
Many accuse Christians of being hateful for speaking against Pride Month. But true love tells the truth.
“Have I therefore become your enemy because I tell you the truth?”
— Galatians 4:16 NKJV“Open rebuke is better than love carefully concealed.”
— Proverbs 27:5 NKJV
We are not called to hate people, but to hate sin (Psalm 97:10). We must lovingly rebuke (2 Timothy 4:2), be willing to study the Bible with others (Acts 8:30–31), and always speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15).
Remaining silent or indifferent is not compassion—it is cowardice and disobedience.
“And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.”
— Ephesians 5:11 NKJV
Do Not Conform to This World
Christian, you are not called to fit in. You are called to be different—set apart for God.
“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind...”
— Romans 12:2 NKJV“Friendship with the world is enmity with God.”
— James 4:4 NKJV
Even when the entire world marches the other way, God’s people must stand firm.
Our Duty: Pray, Speak, Stand
So what should we do?
Pray for those in sin (1 Timothy 2:1–4)
Speak the truth in love (Ephesians 4:15)
Call people to repentance and the gospel of Christ (Luke 24:47)
Stand firm and unashamed (Romans 1:16)
Refuse to accept what God rejects (Galatians 1:10)
We are to live as lights in a dark world. And lights don’t hide.
“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
— Matthew 5:16 NKJV
Will You Speak or Stay Silent?
Jesus never shied away from confronting sin. He ate with sinners, yes—but always called them to repentance. If we are to walk as He walked (1 John 2:6), we too must reject the evil of Pride Month and everything it represents, while holding out the hope of the gospel to all who will listen.
Let us not bow to the culture. Let us not be ashamed of God’s truth. Let us love souls enough to speak.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord...”
— 1 Corinthians 15:58 NKJV
Thank you, Kenny, for your courage to stand for Truth. Instead of sending you hate messages, or name calling I would hope that anyone who disagrees with you would have just as much courage to have an open discussion about what the Bible says, and what the science says. Would that be asking too much?
